inSIGHT Through Education, in partnership with Temple Judea and Mandel JCC, had the honor of welcoming Anna Salton Eisen, acclaimed author and historian, to speak about her recently released book, Pillar of Salt. As the daughter of Holocaust survivors George and Ruth Salton, Anna shared a deeply personal perspective on growing up in a household where the traumatic experiences of her parents were carefully hidden.

Through her talk, Anna offered unique insight into the complexities of family legacy, memory, and the lasting impact of silence surrounding the Holocaust. Attendees were moved by her reflections on identity, resilience, and the profound ways in which the past shapes the present. Her presentation not only highlighted the historical significance of her parents’ experiences but also underscored the importance of sharing these stories to educate future generations and preserve the memory of those who endured unimaginable hardships.
