inSIGHT in Action 2023

At Temple Beth Am, community members, educators, and supporters came together for inSIGHT in ACTION, an evening dedicated to celebrating the year’s accomplishments and reaffirming the importance of Holocaust education in Palm Beach County.
The program opened with a moving performance by the Independence Middle School Choir, setting the tone for a night of reflection, recognition, and inspiration. The Naftaly Award for Outstanding Teacher of the Year was presented to Holocaust elective teacher Bradd Weinberg, honoring his dedication to ensuring students deeply understand the lessons of the Holocaust.
High school student Ava Diamond shared her personal experience as a victim of antisemitism, offering a powerful reminder of why education and awareness remain critical today.
This year’s honorees included:
Kimberly Coombs, Holocaust Studies Program Planner for the School District of Palm Beach County
The Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, accepted by President & CEO Michael Hoffman
Iris Markel, recognized as an outstanding volunteer for her unwavering commitment
The evening culminated with an inspirational keynote from Pastor Chris Edmonds, whose message highlighted the urgency of remembrance, education, and action in the fight against antisemitism and hatred.
Together, the evening’s program reflected the essence of inSIGHT in ACTION—celebrating progress, honoring dedication, and inspiring a community to ensure Holocaust education reaches every student, every year.
