Garden of Education

More than 500 guests gathered on December 10, at the Kravis Center’s Cohen Pavilion, for a memorable evening celebrating inSIGHT Through Education’s 15 years of impact at the Garden of Education Gala.
One of the most powerful moments of the evening came from Patricia Heaton, whose thoughtful and deeply personal remarks resonated throughout the room. She spoke about how her upbringing and faith shaped her belief in standing up for others, and how the events of October 7, 2023, compelled her to speak out in solidarity with the Jewish community. Patricia emphasized the responsibility of allies to confront antisemitism and reminded us that Holocaust and genocide education must begin early – while we still have the opportunity to shape empathy, understanding, and moral responsibility. Her message underscored why our work matters now more than ever.
Leaders from our school community echoed that urgency. Palm Beach County School District Superintendent Mike Burke and Principal Joshua Davidow spoke with clarity and conviction about the essential role Holocaust education plays in helping students understand history, develop empathy, and confront hatred in an increasingly complex world. They affirmed the district’s firm commitment to this work and emphasized the importance of its partnership with inSIGHT Through Education in supporting both students and educators.
They highlighted the impact of inSIGHT’s professional development, noting how it equips teachers with the confidence and tools to navigate complex history and lead meaningful, age-appropriate classroom discussions. Davidow also reflected on how participating in an inSIGHT administrator trip to Washington, D.C., profoundly changed how he leads – not only as a principal, but as a father and as a person. As he shared, "Mandates alone do not move hearts. What inSIGHT brings to students does."
We were proud to honor Gail Danto and Art Roffey, whose leadership and commitment continue to inspire our community. The evening was beautifully led by Master of Ceremonies Tanya Rogers of WPTV NewsChannel 5, with renowned auctioneer Neil Saffer bringing energy and excitement to a lively auction and Call From the Heart, bidding on an unforgettable collection of experiences – from luxury travel and exclusive getaways to private chef dinners and VIP sports experiences – and generously supporting inSIGHT’s mission through heartfelt donations that underscored the purpose behind the celebration.
We are deeply grateful to our event chairs, Ellen and Bernie Gottlieb, and Debbie and Jeff Mann, whose care, creativity, and dedication helped make the evening so meaningful and memorable.
The program also featured beautiful performances by students from the Dreyfoos School of the Arts, creating a meaningful and uplifting celebration. Holocaust Education Advocacy Leaders (HEAL) students engaged with guests, sharing their own experiences and offering powerful testimonials on how inSIGHT’s programs have shaped their understanding, empathy, and sense of responsibility.
The Gala was a vibrant celebration of community, purpose, and impact, made possible by the generosity of our individual and corporate sponsors. Because of this support, inSIGHT is on track to reach 100,000 students and educators this year and is preparing for continued geographic expansion.
The Garden of Education continues to flourish. Thank you for joining us and for helping to move our mission forward.
