A Holocaust Journey

Directed by Lisa Reznik, this documentary chronicles a profound and eye-opening travel mission led by Dr. Harriet Sepinwall and Dr. Margaret Roman. In 2016, students from the College of Saint Elizabeth, accompanied by Holocaust survivors and local community members, embarked on a journey to Berlin and Poland to confront the stark realities of the Holocaust firsthand.

Among the participants was Pinchas Gutter, a survivor of six concentration camps, who shared deeply personal accounts of his family’s experiences in Poland. The film captures the students’ raw reactions, thoughtful reflections, and insightful interviews conducted two years after the expedition, highlighting the enduring emotional and educational impact of walking in the footsteps of history.

Through this powerful documentary, audiences witness not only the survivors’ resilience and courage but also the transformative effect such immersive experiences have on the next generation, deepening understanding, empathy, and a commitment to remembering the lessons of the Holocaust.
