
Official Rules and Guidelines​
To participate in the inSIGHT Through Education Chesed (Kindness) Social Media Contest, students must:

Be a full-time middle or high school student in The School District of Palm Beach County.

Create and submit their own original work (all research, content, and editing must be completed by the student).

Submit a signed parent/guardian consent and waiver form.

Use their personal email address when submitting their entry.

Feature a true story of Chesed (kindness or compassion) during the Holocaust, such as:
-
Rescuers
-
Hidden children
-
The Righteous Among the Nations
-
Other authentic acts of kindness during the Holocaust
-

Explain how the Holocaust story connects to a modern lesson about:
-
Standing up to antisemitism
-
Preventing bullying or discrimination
-
Rejecting hate
-
Promoting kindness, acceptance, and respect
-

Include a list of sources used to research the Holocaust narrative.

Ensure all information is factually accurate and reliable.
-
Submit their project in one of the following formats:

A short social media video (TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts)

An educational Instagram slide deck

Submit only original work. Any plagiarism, fabricated information, or uncredited use of outside content will result in disqualification.
Acceptable Submission Formats
Students may submit their entry in any of the following formats:

Video
-
Traditional video (student speaking on camera)
-
Animation or stop motion
-
Voiceover narration over images or archival photos
-
Interview style (student interviewing a grandparent, teacher, or community member)
-
Text on screen video (words building on screen, set to music, no narration required)

Single image post with a caption or quote overlay
-
Photo carousel (multiple slides telling a story or progression)
-
Infographic (facts, timeline, or a profile of a Righteous Among the Nations rescuer)

Original digital art or illustration
-
Letter format (to a rescuer, a Survivor, or a bystander), posted as text or styled as a graphic
-
Poem or spoken word piece, posted as text or read aloud over a still image
-
Podcast style clip or voice memo, posted with a static image
Entry Dates
All entries must be submitted electronically by January 12th at 11:59 PM EST.
All winners will be informed on Holocaust Remembrance Day, January 27th.
Awards Ceremony
An Awards ceremony will take place in the spring. More details to follow.
